Looking from the bedroom into the bathroom. As I explained in the previous post, that wall is six inches deep so as to accommodate the wall-mounted toilet. For additional strength I doubled up the studs where it will be mounted. The odd stud spacing to the left is to accommodate the wall-mounted vanity we already bought from IKEA. We bought it now so we’d know exactly how it needs to be mounted to the wall.Looking toward the rear of Container #3, through the bedroom and what will be the closet. The outer doors will be sealed shut permanently. We decided to expand the pass-through between the bedroom and office. Haven’t finished all the steel-removal here yet.The kitchen. We won’t install the window and complete the framing until we have the base cabinets. This is so the window will be centered over the sink. The other end of the kitchen. The nook on the left is for the stacking washer/dryer.
Note to self: NO MORE CONTAINER WORK IN THE SUMMER.
COMING UP NEXT
In September we’ll finish the framing on the entire place, install the bathroom window, and run electric lines to Container #2 and, time permitting, Container #3.
LOOKING AHEAD
Farther out, we’ll finish electrical, insulate Container #2, and, time permitting, begin plumbing.
