When we launched this online project documentating our container conversion, we thought of breaking it down by what was achieved on each of my (Clay’s) trips back to Mississippi from California. As a reminder, I live and work for the time being in Northern California and get back home several times a year for eight or 10 days at a time. Calvin has projects while I’m away, but we try to get as much done as possible during my trips home. There’s some choreography involved in moving from activity to activity, such as from carpentry to welding or from pier-building to electrical work, and being as efficient as possible in a limited space of time.
But as I sat down to write about the March 2022 trip home, and to cover rust removal, door and window installation, framing and electrical, it became too cumbersome to arrange narratives that way.
And so I’ll be organizing blog posts by the nature of the work, using tags for framing, electrical, plumbing, etc., even when the work takes place across a span of months between photos. I think the posts will be more useful to the reader that way.
