Many of our eager readers have asked, “What’s up with the countdown timer?”
As we explained earlier, I have a government job in California and am in Mississippi for only three weeks or so each year. That means I have to plan and plan and plan some more so that my time back home is as productive as possible. There’s a choreography of time and tasks to make sure every hour I’m in Mississippi advances the project in a meaningful way. Calvin meanwhile has to-do lists of his own. It’s an unconventional arrangement, but then so is a shipping-container house in Pike County, Mississippi.
I will retire from my job in October 2026 and move back to Mississippi. Our hope is to have the shipping container house finished and habitable by then. And that is what the countdown clocking is counting down to.
So excited for your project! Mark and I aren’t FB friends or I’d just tag him. Anyway, he and Connie have shipping container living experience from when they were in South Sudan. You should reach out to him as he is a wealth of knowledge in many fields.
Good luck!
Fan. Tastic. Will be reading with envy from my rented perch in Mount Washington. :).
